wellness coaching
"The relationship of obesity to chronic illness such as diabetes and heart disease is well-documented. Effective weight loss interventions include sustained lifestyle change for exercise, healthy eating and mindfulness. Importantly, interventions should also address the multiple facets of a person’s well-being."
~ John E. Anderson, MD, Frist Clinic, Former President, Medicine and Science, American Diabetes Association
What is Wellness Coaching?
Coaching is a professional relationship between the Coach & the Client that is totally focused on furthering the Client's agenda. People can so often get caught up in the "how" of living, in the surviving from day to day, that they can easily forget their dreams, goals and aspirations. Coaching can be a means of reconnecting to your highest purpose, your most fulfilling way of being in the world.
I created the Whole Life Wellness Model© to help people conceptualize the many different yet interdependent dimensions or aspects of their life. There 12 Dimensions of Wellness, six internal and six external, are the multiple facets of well-being to which Dr. Anderson alluded in the above quotation.

All of these dimensions interact with all of the others in unique ways and any lasting positive behavior change in any one dimension will increase your overall quality of life. As your Wellness Coach, I can help you identify strategies to get you from where you are now to where you want to be.
Why hire a Coach?
There are as many different reasons for hiring a coach as there are people. My philosophy is that no one needs a coach but a coach can help you get more from life. Whether it's more fulfillment, more balance, more passion, more connection, a stronger sense of purpose, a more positive body image, more creativity, more growth, more challenges, more self-awareness, more able to face fears, more positive transformations or more choices, a good Wellness Coach can help you get there.
The name of the game is CHANGE! Ultimately, you're the only person responsible for your happiness, so if it's not working, it's has to change, right? As your Coach, I can help you look at your life in a new way to first decide what needs to change, then help you develop a plan to implement the changes you desire. As the saying goes, “Nothing changes until you do!”

Accountability
One of the unique benefits of the coaching relationship is that the coach will hold you accountable for the actions you commit to taking.
Accountability is what turns an intention, that may or may not happen at some point in the future, into a definite goal with an action plan for achieving it.
Accountability is the primary mechanism used to further your agenda. It is the impetus behind the agent of change, namely taking action and it is the surest barometer of why things aren't working.
