The Coaching Principles classroom course is designed to give coaches the latest information available to effectively teach techniques and tactics, provide for optimal physical preparation, and work with a wide variety of athletes to help them perform their very best. Coaches are led through a series of activities, some of which present simulated situations that will require them to wrestle with choices in making difficult decisions. Coaches are introduced to critical coaching principles such as their philosophy of coaching and they consider tough questions such as whether they really put athletes first and how they can do so in even the toughest of situations. The Coaching Principles course materials and online resources help coaches understand their significant position as role models and learn the best methods for coaching, motivating, planning, teaching, and communicating.
The Coaching Principles Classroom Course:
This eight hour course (typically delivered in either one full day or two evenings format) challenges coaches to define their coaching philosophy, objectives, and style; enhance communication and motivational skills; become more effective teachers; and improve time, relationship and risk management skills. Coaching Principles covers the fundamentals of being a successful coach—on and off the field.
